Composing with Abandon

In this six-week zoom class series we’ll focus on using physical, spatial and conceptual constraints to push our movement choices towards freedom, discovery, and that palpable quality of "oh my g-d!" that we feel when we get down to the truth in our dancing and performing. And who doesn't need more of that?

We’ll approach improvising and composing as pathways to liberation from self-doubt and isolation, finding release in vulnerability and the sublime ridiculous.

Meditation and deep inquiry into our limited self view are the foundations for taking these meaningful risks together.

The cost for the six week series is $108.00, payable via Venmo to @clydeforth.

Use this link to register. Once your payment is received your registration will be confirmed and you’ll receive an email with the link and other information about the class.

Online Authentic Movement Sessions

Schedule a one-on-one Authentic Movement session with clyde forth.

Authentic Movement is a form that brings our feelings, sensations and intentions into closer alignment. Sessions are 45 minutes to an hour in length and are completely confidential. Together with you as mover and me as witness, let’s start to unfold old patterns or habits you are ready to let go of. I can also offer advice on postural alignment and chronic body stress issues.

Online Authentic Movement Session
from $75.00

When was the last time you felt fully seen? In Authentic Movement a mover (you) is moving their body intuitively and a witness (me) has only one job: to pay attention and see you. No judging, no objectifying, no superficial evaluating. One-on-one Authentic Movement practice allows the wisdom and the expression of our body in movement to help us see and resolve many types of distress, trauma, or inner conflict. It can also be a pleasurable way to connect and integrate even if there isn’t a particular conflict going on.

The Southern Thing

The Southern Thing

The Southern Thing is a new dance work created by improvisor/choreographer clyde forth.

Reaching down below the Mason-Dixon line of her consciousness she conjures up a haunting but often humorous impression of growing up - and out - of the deep south. Ms. forth recreates "memories" and channels semi-fictional characters with her signature blend of audience rapport and idiosyncratic, dynamic improvisation.

She tears into some fundamental realities of southern upbringing with humility and ferocity, embracing the ridiculous as well as the sublime. Part indictment, part loving memoir, The Southern Thing invites the audience into a raw dance excavation of what it means to be from somewhere.
